This movie tries to be a Perry Mason meets the corrupt "new" China. Richard Gere gets framed for a murder he doesn't commit. The main thing you learn from this movie is that spending quality time in a Chinese prison doesn't look like a lot of fun. It also boasts of that tried & true character, the lawyer who doesn't believe you & then learns for themselves that the victim truly was innocent all the time. I also guessed who the real murderer was 10 minutes before the movie does as it was building to that point.

This wasn't the worst movie I've seen lately, but it was only so-so. Would make a better rental if your first 2 or 3 choices aren't available.
